Introduction:
| The session will focus on functional inequalities in Sobolev spaces and their interplay with the theory of Partial Differential Equations, in particular of parabolic and elliptic type. The aim of the session is to gather together experts in the field but also young research in order to present the most recent advances and to foster possible collaborations, especially by gathering together people having different point of views on the subjects. Among the topics considered, the session will focus on: existence/nonexistence issues for extremals of functional inequalities, both for classical and fractional order Sobolev spaces; stability issues; connections between functional inequalities and regularity of solutions to PDEs; geometric aspects of functional inequalities; gradient flows; mathematical models for classical and quantum mechanics.
