 Introduction:
Inverse scattering problems, governed by partial differential equations (PDEs), play a crucial role in numerous scientific and engineering applications, including medical imaging, geophysical exploration, and nondestructive testing. This mini-symposium focuses on recent advances in mathematical modeling, computational techniques, and applications related to PDE-based inverse scattering. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: novel regularization strategies for ill-posed inverse problems, machine learning-enhanced inversion methods, high-performance computing for large-scale scattering problems, and applications in wave propagation, electromagnetics, and acoustics. The session aims to bring together researchers from applied mathematics, computational science, and engineering to discuss challenges, share innovative solutions, and explore emerging trends in this rapidly evolving field.
