The 7th AIMS Conference on Dynamical Systems and Differential Equations

University of Texas at Arlington, Texas, USA
May 18 - 21, 2008

The 7th AIMS Conference concluded on May 21, 2008, with a grand success. Carrying the success of the 6th Conference in Poitiers, the 7th AIMS Conference drew, once again, a large participation of about 700 mathematicians and scientists from over 70 countries/regions, reassuring that the AIMS Conference Series has become the prime platform of communications for all people working in the field.

The University of Texas at Arlington provided the first-rate facilities and superb services that impressed all of the participants. Especially, the Organizing Committee members worked so hard and meticulously that the operation of the meeting went very smoothly throughout.

In a relaxing and stimulating environment, researchers exchanged ideas, reported recent findings, reunited with old friends and made new ones. With abundance of special topics in a record number of 47 well-organized special sessions, all participants found plenty of interesting talks and met with some potential collaborators. Special topics range from mathematical analysis to applications and modeling/computations in, e.g., biomathematics, medicine, fluid mechanics, celestial mechanics, astrophysics, engineering, and economics.

The Conference banquet, attended by more than 300 people, became an extravaganza celebrating the success of the conference. As the Conference was sponsored by the United States National Science Foundation under Grant No. 0738356, more than 50 graduate students and recent PhDs were financially supported with this NSF grant to participate in the meeting.

The Conference proceedings will be published in the book series, called AIMS Proceedings.

The next AIMS conference will take place at Dresden, Germany, in May 2010.
