Fractional Laplacian in Angular Momentum Channels

Abstract:
When the heat semigroup generated by the Laplacian is restricted to angular momentum channels, its decay improves with increasing angular momentum. I will discuss an analogous phenomenon for fractional Laplacians. The improvement is captured by channel-dependent Hardy inequalities and by effective radial heat kernels, which reflect the additional repulsion (killing) induced by the angular momentum (oscillations).
