| In this study we give a short overview of some classical discrete distributions of order k. They are Geometric distribution of order k, Binomial distribution of order k, Negative binomial distribution of order k, Poisson distribution of order k and the logarithmic distribution of order k. Some properties of these distributions including probability generating function, probability mass function and recursion formulas are presented. The Polya-Aeppli distributions of order k of the first and of the second type are also discussed. |
