Abstract: |
A mathematical model of V. cholerae incorporating bacterial, phage, and human populations is devised. It is shown that either one or two endemic equilibria may exist under certain conditions. Local stability results for the SIRS-BP model are established as well as global stability results for the SIR-BP model. Conventional disease control strategies are discussed along with the contrasting strategy of disease control by phage. It is shown that the infectious population may be reduced to any desired quantity by an appropriate addition of phage to the environment. |
