The parameterization method is widely used in numerical research to (rigorously) compute (un)stable manifolds, which in turn can be used to find connections between fixed points. In this talk, I will discuss how we can adapt the parameterization method to compute the Taylor polynomial of a center manifold as an approximation of the actual center manifold. Furthermore, I will show how we can explicitly determine the error between the Taylor polynomial and the actual center manifold. Finally, I will present an application of the parameterization method for center manifolds. |
