Abstract:
We discuss several examples of reaction-diffusion systems, for which exponential convergence to equilibrium can be shown despite the difficulty that some species are not diffusive. In particular we provide functional inequalities, which allow to quantify how an indirect diffusion effect is produced by already one diffusion species within a weakly reversible reaction graph. Such inequalities also apply to volume-surface reaction-diffusion systems and are a crucial tool in the analysis of systems with nonlinear (porous media type) diffusion.
