Abstract:
I will consider a system of two Fisher-KPP type equations posed on adjacent domains, where the diffusion coefficients and the reaction terms are different. I will present the qualitative properties of the asymptotic speed of propagation of the solutions starting from compactly supported initial data. In particular, I will show the differences with respect to the case of a homogeneous environment, as well as the relations with the corresponding \lq\lq road-field\rq\rq model.
