| In this talk, I would like to introduce a variational approach to construct traveling waves for reaction-diffusion equations. We study a classical combustion model which has a triple-well potential with three stable constant equilibrium 0, 1 and 2. In some situations, a traveling wave connecting 0 to 2(called 0-2 wave) can be viewed as an interaction between 0-1 wave
and 1-2 wave. We will give a criterion to determine whether 0-2 wave exists. Moreover, some equations with a multiple-well potential are also studied. |
