Abstract:
Front propagation in a generic term for phenomena occurring in scientific domains ranging from cancer modelling (tumor growth) to petroleum engineering (water flooding). These phenomena all involve the monotonic growth of a domain, with a non-uniform and possibly non-isotropic mobility. Our goal is estimate this mobility given several snapshots of the front. In the spirit of shooting methods, we introduce a system of coupled Hamilton-Jacobi equations in which the mobility is carried by the interface.
