Realistic age-structured population models should incorporate a finite life-spam of individuals. To this end, some models introduce mortality rates that are unbounded near the finite maximum age. However, such condition introduces difficulties in the numerical analysis of the model. During the last years, some numerical methods have been proposed for some specific mortality functions. In this work we propose an appropriate procedure for the approximation of these kinds of problems based on the numerical approach of the survival probability. |
