The notion of center is generalized to the case of a $p:-q$ resonant singular point of a polynomial vector field
in $\mathbb{C}^2$. We give new methods to prove the sufficiency for a resonant singular point satisfying some necessary conditions and we provide a resume of the known techniques used to prove the sufficiency.
