In this talk we consider a model for a nucleon interacting with the $\sigma$ and $\omega$ mesons in the atomic nucleus. This model is described by a nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger-type equation, where the mass depends on the solution itself. I will present some existence results for this equation and for the associated minimization problem. I will discuss some perspectives on the time-dependent version of this model.
The talk is based on joint works with Maria J. Esteban and Lo\"{i}c Le Treust |
