Several results for the Cahn-Hilliard equation with dynamic boundary conditions are known. In particular, well poseness holds if the potential entering the equations in the domain dominates the potential involved in the boundary condition. In this talk, the opposite case is considerered, i.e., the dominating potential is the boundary potential. Well posedness and regularity results obained in a joint paper with P. Colli and J. Sprekels are presented both for the Cahn-Hilliard equation and for the viscous Cahn-Hilliard equation. Moreover, for the latter, an optimal control problem is discussed.
