We present a method for the finding bifurcations of turning point type for nonlinear equations, including partial differential systems. The method is based on a generalization of the Collatz-Wielandt formula.
A number of examples, including system of elliptic and parabolic problems with $p$- Laplacian, will be discussed.
In addition, we present a numerical algorithm for the computation of the turning point, which is actually a new geometrical concept in the theory of numerical calculation of the bifurcation points. |
