We survey recent results on multiplicity of periodic solutions for some $N$-dimensional relativistic equations. Also, we present existence and multiplicity results for Dirichlet problems involving the mean extrinsic curvature operator in Minkovski space. The talk is based on joint work with Cristian Bereanu, Jean Mawhin, C\v{a}lin \c{S}erban and Pedro Torres.
