Recently, the $\mu$-Hunter-Saxton ($\mu$HS) equation has attracted a lot of attention from researchers. The $\mu$HS equation was originally derived and studied by Khesin \textit{et al.}, where the authors showed that this equation admits both periodic one-peakon solutions and multipeakons. In this work, we write this equation in terms of $\mu$ and we study classical Lie symmetries and reductions.
