In this talk, we will discuss the effect of harvesting on a population governed by Pielou's equation. In particular, we will discuss the stability and the basin of attraction of the positive fixed point of the difference equation \[ x_{n+1}=\frac{\beta x_n}{1+ x_{n-k}} -h \] The effect of both the delay $k$ and the harvesting level $h$ will be examined.
