Contents
The present talk concerns the analysis of a model for adhesive contact between a thermoviscoelastic body and a rigid support. The related PDE system features the quasi-static momentum balance, the equation governing the evolution of a surface damage parameter and the equations for the temperature in the bulk domain and on the contact surface. The main difficulties connected to the analytical investigation are due to the presence of multivalued operators rendering physical constraints on the variables, as well as to the contact conditions, to the singular character of the temperature equations, and to the highly nonlinear coupling between the equations themselves. Global-in-time existence results are proved. The presented results have been obtained in collaboration with Elena Bonetti and Riccarda Rossi.
