| Cohesive-zone models are free-discontinuity problems with a surface
energy that converges to zero for small values of the jump, and to a positive,
finite value for large values of the jump. Their approximation with a phase-
field model requires an interaction between the damage variable and the strain
that depends on the regularization parameter. I will discuss recent progress
on the development of these approximations and on the study of the limiting
model. The talk is based on joint work with Flaviana Iurlano and Matteo Focardi. |
