We introduce symplectic homeomorphisms to state the following generic dynamical property in the $C^0$ topology: the special shadowing property. This relates to properties that, for diffeomorphisms, are consequences of hyperbolicity. In this weaker topology we guarantee the same qualitative behaviour in the generic sense without any hyperbolicity assumptions.
