Analyzing a Mathematical Model in Wound Healing with Individual Patient Data

Abstract:
Previously, a mathematical model of the healing response of diabetic foot ulcers was developed using median data. The model consists of matrix metalloproteinases, their inhibitors, fibroblasts, and ECM level, which is related to the wound radius. The model was subsequently curve fit to the individual patient data and analyzed through a series of sensitivity analyses and subset selections. Some of these results will be presented as well an introduction to our mixed-modeling approach to analyze the model with individual patient data.
