Abstract:
This talk is concerned with the propagation speeds of solutions to parabolic-elliptic Keller-Segel chemotaxis models with logistic growth. While the study of the dynamics of solutions to such models has attracted the attention of a number of researchers over the past few years, there is no much information on the effect of the presence of the chemical substance on the spatial spreading speeds of the solutions with compactly supported or front-like initial distributions. In this talk, we will present some recent results on the spatial spreading speeds of parabolic-elliptic Keller-Segel chemotaxis models with logistic growth. Our discussion will also cover some results on the minimal wave speed of traveling waves connecting the two equilibria of the underlying system.
