Analysis of the Ericksen-Leslie and Q-Tensor Model for Liquid Crystal Flows

Abstract:
In this talk we investigate the Ericksen-Leslie model subject to general Leslie stress as well as the Beris-Edwards Q-tensor model for liquid crystal flows in the case of non vanishing tumbling and alignment effects. We prove global strong well-posedness results for these sets of equations within the three dimensional setting.
