Abstract:
A fully-saturated poroelastic medium is contained in a fluid-filled chamber and displaced by pressure differences between fluid regions in the chamber. The motion is limited by tangential friction along the bilateral contact region of the cylinder. The formulation leads to a well-posed nonlinear initial-boundary-value problem for the Biot - fluid system.
