Abstract:
| This session will serve to promote and disseminate recent developments on stability and instability analysis in fluid mechanics. The fundamental prototypes of PDEs are the Navier-Stokes and Euler equations. These equations appear, with fixed or moving interfaces, either alone or coupled with other equations, in the study of many phenomena in aerodynamics, geophysics, plasma physics, etc. The scopes of the session include classical hydrodynamic instabilities in shear, rotating and convective flows, and related topics such as onset of turbulence, magnetohydrodynamics, geophysical and astrophysical fluids. |
