Stability of front solutions of the bidomain equation on a strip

Abstract:
We study the initial value problem of the bidomain equation with bistable type nonlinearity on the strip. The bidomain equations originate from the study of electrical properties of cardiac tissue. It contains a pseudo-differential operator instead of the Laplacian, while it has a planar traveling wave, similar to the Allen-Cahn equation. Out objective is to study its stability, especially, to analyze how the stability of planar fronts depends on the width of the strip.
