| In this talk, we will present some recent progress on the Cauchy problem
for the Boltzmann equation without cutoff. We prove the local well-posedness for the
Cauchy problem with general initial data in weighted Sobolev spaces with
polynomial weights. We do not assume that the solution initially is a small
perturbation of some background solution, for instance, the equilibrium. |
