Abstract:
Applications of mathematics have become increasingly important to the understanding and solutions of biological problems. This special session focuses on topics of current interest and recent advances in the theory and applications in mathematical biology. Deterministic models,
stochastic models, and recent mathematical methods developed to study these models will be presented including problems in the spread and control of emerging and re-emerging diseases, in the control of invasive species, in resource related competition, and in oncology. This session will provide a forum for discussion and
exchange of innovative ideas among new investigators and active researchers on recent advances in the areas of mathematical biology.
